The three-time MLS Defender of the Year earns another nod here from our writing staff. An aerial expert, Marshall is also surprisingly good on his feet. He frequently stopped runs with a well-placed slide, and held down a back line for most of the year while his high-paid and high-powered center-back partner, Roman Torrés, spent the better part of a season recovering from a torn ACL suffered last year.

Marshall also added a career-high 4 goals this season.
