Shkëlzen Gashi signed with the Colorado Rapids as a designated player from FC Basel in February ahead of the 2016 season. The 28-year-old can play anywhere across the attacking midfield three but is mostly dispatched as the left winger in Colorado’s 4-3-3. He scored 9 goals and assisted 4 times in his 26 appearances during the regular season. Gashi brough in some great attacking power to the Rapids side, averaging 2.2 key passes a game and 3.4 shots per game. The Albanian international also gave them the experience and maturity that they were missing last season.
