Ola Kamara signed with the Columbus Crew on February 4th as a depth signing behind Kei Kamara, no relation. But once Kei Kamara left the Crew, Ola was thrust into the role of starting striker and he did not hesitate to make an impact, picking up a hat-trick in his 3rd start in a 4-3 win over RSL. Kamara finished the season with 16 goals and 2 assists after only starting 20 games. That is a very impressive stat seeing that he was only expected to play in a depth role. It will be interesting to see how Ola Kamara does coming in to next season as the first choice striker for the Crew.
