Medical Expert Looks into Sounders Injuries and the Likelihood of Returns
The Sounders have a few key players injured right now. Here is the likelihood of each player coming back in time for the Western Conference Final.
The Sounders have a little bit of an injury bug going on right now which means that the international break for World Cup Qualifying came at just the right time. RealDoctorFakeName, an anonymous writer for Sounder at Heart, has gone through every injured Sounder and listed the likelihood of each returning to the pitch in time for the first of leg of the Western Conference Final against the Colorado Rapids.
Jordan Morris
Probably the player that Sounders fans are most worried about. After being subbed out at half time with a hamstring strain, Morris was dropped from USMNT World Cup Qualifiers in order to recover. RealDoctorFakeName is under the impression that because it was somewhere between a minor strain and a moderate strain, he should be right on pace to come back by next Tuesday. Morris is put at a >85% likelihood of playing.
Roman Torres
The defensive wall that is Roman Torres was a late scratch to the starting lineup in Seattle’s first leg clash against FC Dallas. The club says that this was a hamstring injury that happened in the Sporting KC match and if this is the case, RealDoctorFakeName puts him at a likelihood of >80%.
Andres Ivanschitz
Ivanschitz hasn’t stepped onto the field since being subbed out 16 minutes into Seattle’s goalless draw with Houston on October 12th. RealDoctorFakeName says that the injury looked like an MCL strain which usually means a 6 week recovery time, which will exactly fall on November 22nd. On top of that, club has announced that Ivanschitz is close to full training so RealDoctorFakeName gives him a likelihood of >90% to play.
Flaco Fernandez
After first injury his hamstring in the 9th minute of Seattle’s 2-1 win over Vancouver, Fernandez was also a late scratch in Seattle’s first leg win over Dallas, which RealDoctorFakeName believes to be a re-injury to his hamstring. RealDoctorFakeName says that trainers will likely be more cautious because of the short amount of time between his first injury and actual injury so Fernandez’ likelihood of being back in time to play next Tuesday is around 65%.
Oalex Anderson
The incredibly speedy St. Vincent and the Grenadines forward’s injury has been kept in the dark for the most part. RealDoctorFakeName thinks that because forwards are more prone to re-injure hamstrings and that he has been out for a while, Anderson’s likelihood of returning is given to be around 30%.

Dylan Remick
Remick is officially off concussion protocol but nothing has been said on whether he is back to full training yet so RealDoctorFakeName puts this one at a 50%.
Clint Dempsey
Even though Klinsmann has been optimistic about his return, Dempsey is still dealing with his heart issues and will not be on the pitch for at least the rest of the 2016 season. For obvious reasons, RealDoctorFakeName puts his likelihood at a 0%.
