Scoreless First Half

The first half ended in scoreless but not for the lack of trying. Both teams were pushing hard for a win in this one as they needed three points to keep their playoff hopes alive. The closest chance came on a Cyle Larin shot from outside the box that ended up being just wide of the post by a few inches.

Montreal Impact Strike First

After a scoreless first 45′, the Impact took a 1-0 lead in the second half. It happened when Dominic Oduro scored his sixth goal of the season in the 56′ minute. The goal came on a breakaway chance for Montreal and Oduro only had the keeper to beat for the easy finish.

Evan Bush Denies Larin From Point Blank Range

Orlando City created their fair share of chances in the second half as they attempted to find an equalizer. One of the best chances came in the 62′ minute when a great pass from Luke Boden found star striker, Cyle Larin, in front of goal with only the keeper to beat. The shot from only a few yards out was saved by Evan Bush as he kept the clean sheet. This was only one great save of many from the Impact goalkeeper in the second half.

With the international break ahead, both clubs will be out of MLS action for some time. Orlando City SC will travel away from home to take on the Philadelphia Union in their next match on Sunday, October 16th. The Montreal Impact will return home to take on Toronto FC in a north of the border class on Sunday, October 16th as well.
