The Portland Timbers have become one of the leagues most popular clubs in their short time of existence in MLS. Electric fans are always present at Providence Park and create a vibrant atmosphere for the matches. Last season the club claimed its first ever MLS Cup title by defeating the Columbus Crew in the final. It gave them redemption from the 2013 season where they had the best regular season finish as the top club in the Western Conference but failed to win it all.

Goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts spent three seasons with the club and had 23 clean sheets. He is in multiple top 10 all-time stat categories in MLS record books.
