Prediction: Eastern Conference Playoff Spots
Sixth Place: Orlando City
Orlando City is at an all time low right now. They sacked their head coach a month ago, are getting interest for their star players from other European clubs, and just lost for the first time at Camping World Stadium in 17 games. Yet I still have them trickling across the red line come October. Here’s why:
Jason Kreis, highly regarded as a future coach of the United States Men’s National Team and one of the best tactical minds in the MLS, is now Orlando’s head coach. Though he failed at NYCFC, Orlando is a club that will fit his needs more than NYCFC did. There won’t be a parent club telling you what to do as Man City was at NYCFC. Instead, the Orlando will give Kreis all their resources and allow him to do what he needs to do to win. Orlando is currently tied for points with the New England Revolution who are in the last playoff spot. By October, Kreis will have turned the Orlando ship around and gotten them a place in the playoffs for the first time in their short history.
