Prediction: Eastern Conference Playoff Spots
Third Place: Philadelphia Union
The Union, who finished 9th in the Eastern Conference last year, is the shockingly impressive team of the East. Philly started the season out very strongly, only losing 3 times in 14 games. After hitting a recent small bump in the road, losing 4 in 7, the Union announced the signing of Alejandro Bedoya, a player who could be a huge difference maker for this Philly squad.
The United States Men’s National Team midfielder is the second ever DP signing for the Union. Their first, Maurice Edu, has been a rock for Philly throughout his time with the club but the signing of an attacking DP is exactly what the fans wanted. I believe that Bedoya’s signing will be exactly what the Union needs to push them up to a third place Eastern Conference finish.
