FC Dallas came through with two late goals to defeat the LA Galaxy, 2-1, in extra time as they now advance to the final of the U.S. Open Cup.

FC Dallas left Los Angeles in high spirits after they pulled off a 2-1 win in extra time over the Galaxy. This was an exciting game that had all of the scoring action come late in the match. This semifinal match-up had a trip to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final on the line.

FC Dallas completed an improbable comeback as they scored two goals in the final five minutes of the game. This will be the third time that FC Dallas will be in the U.S. Open Cup Final in franchise history. They missed their two previous chances at the title in 2005 and 2007 when they lost to the LA Galaxy and the New England Revolution.

Both teams were trying hard for the opportunity to reach the final as they both played strong sides with quality first team players. It was a tough spot for both clubs as they play this midweek match and they also have a game in MLS regular season play in just a few days time. Both coaches did a great job of mixing their first team and reserve players to create for an exciting game.
