First Place: Colorado Rapids

Though currently sitting in second place 3 points behind FC Dallas with 2 games in hand, I believe that this is Colorado’s season to lose. Defensively, they are the best league in the MLS, only allowing 19 goals this season and though they have only scored 26 times in their 22 games, 4th worst in the Western Conference, their defense will be able to push them through to October leading the Western Conference.

The signing of Sebastien Le Toux should also give the Rapids the advantage they need to keep up their dominance. Though he only scored 2 goals in his 21 appearances for the Union before the trade, Le Toux will be a strong versatile player who can play up top or anywhere along the Rapids attacking midfield line. He will also be important coming off the bench for Colorado to provide a late spark.
