Darlington Nagbe

Position: Midfielder

Club: Portland Timbers

Previous All-Star game appearances: none

Darlington Nagbe has finally been included by the fans in the MLS All-Stars XI, marking the first time he has been nominated since joining the Portland Timbers in 2011. An important prospect for the USMNT, the 25-year-old possesses bags of ability, with his passing and dribbling being standout features of his game.

With just 23 goals and 20 assists in a 160 appearances from 2011-2015, the Liberian-born Nagbe doesn’t have the best statistics to back his undoubted talent. But that hasn’t stopped the fans from naming him in their XI

due to his style of play

and the directness he brings in his game.

A recent showing at the Copa America Centenario must have also helped his cause, as the midfielder picked up his tenth cap for the USMNT in their eventual fourth-placed finish in the tournament.
