Andre Blake

Position: Goalkeeper

Club: Philadelphia Union

Previous All-Star game appearances: none

25-year-old Andre Blake is the fan’s number one goalkeeping pick ahead of this years MLS All-Star clash, beating off stiff competition from the likes of David Bingham, Nick Romando, Joe Bendik and Luis Robles. Despite the Philadelphia Union shot stopper’s first couple of years at his club producing only 7 MLS appearances, he has since gone on to consolidate himself as first choice in his position.

The 6’1” keeper’s increased playing time has only improved his calibre and this culminated in a call-up to the Jamaican National team for the 2016 Copa America Centenario. His impressive performances in the tournament were noticed by many but it still couldn’t help his country’s cause, as they lose all three Group Stage games and went home early.

A first-timer on the All-Star XI scene, Blake will be expected to face a lot of shots from the Gunners during his time on the pitch. Which means that he will definitely need to step up to the task whenever called upon.
