Another non-surprising inclusion to the MLS All-Star Fan XI is NYCFC’s David Villa, who earned a place in the team courtesy the EA Sports FIFA 16 challenge. The former Spanish international and FC Barcelona forward has won everything that is needed to be won for a professional football player, but his hunger for more success hasn’t waned away despite his advancing age.

Villa’s 18 goals and 8 assists in 2015 wasn’t enough to prevent NYCFC from finishing 17th overall and missing the play-offs, but with more star studded support in the form of team-mates Pirlo and Lampard in 2016, the fortunes of his new team looks set to change for the better. This will be his second participation in the MLS All-Star game following the 2015 edition, where he notched the winning goal.

Considering the 35-year-old’s previous encounters with Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, the Gunners must be vary of his terrific wing-play and his incredibly calm nature in front of goal.
