Didier Drogba

Position: Forward

Club: Montreal Impact

Previous All-Star game appearances: none

At 38 years of age, Chelsea legend Didier Drogba hasn’t shown many signs of slowing down. While he might not have the pace to run defenses ragged anymore, he still maintains the tenacity and brutal physicality that have become hallmarks of his game.

Drogba has also added a creative touch to his overall play, which is summed up by his assist record in 2016 already eclipsing his 2015 total. He has developed a brilliant understanding with Ignacio Piatti at Montreal Impact as they lead their charge for a high finish come the end of the season.

With his general fitness in 2016 being a cause for concern, MLS fans will be hopeful for Drogba’s availability for the MLS All-Star game. The Ivorian has always created a nuisance whenever he has faced Arsene Wenger’s side, with his physical style of play and clinical nature in front of goal making the difference in most of his games against the Gunners.
