For some fans, the MLS off-season came too soon as they have to sit out and watch the play-offs unfold without them. For others, the off-season means rosters get re-shuffled, and new faces get bought in t shake things up.
One of those new faces could be a World Cup winner. Interested? of course you are. When a player like Miroslav Klose becomes available there is a huge number of reasons to try and get his name on your team.
Klose currently plays in the Italian Serie A for Lazio but his deal is up at the end of the season. He has been in Italy since 2011, scoring over 50 goals in just over 140 games in all competitions.
The Polish-born German forward is the leading goalscorer at the World Cup with 16 goals and is also Germany’s top-scorer with 71 goals to his name for the national side. However he retired from international duty at the end of the World Cup having won it in Brazil with Germany last year.

Age is a possible issue because he is 37 and it is just as likely that he will retire from football at the end of his contract rather than have a season or two in MLS. He spoke about his future in September least year on Twitter and claimed he wanted to play for at least two more years. Then, he said, coaching was his main goal.
But reports in Italy suggest an MLS deal, or three, is on the table and it is just a matter of time before we know exactly where he will be playing.
So where could he end up if he does decide to try his luck in North America?
New York Red Bulls could afford the wages, and have a DP spot left. Getting Klose would add even more firepower to an attack-minded Red Bulls side as well as a wealth of experience which will aid everyone on the team.
Chicago Fire are also reportedly in the hunt. They too have a DP spot vacancy and Klose would be an interesting addition for sure. The final team linked is surprising because it is LA Galaxy who already have full DP spots, a packed roster and plenty of attacking options.

If either three teams can get him on a non-DP deal it would be a real coup of course, downplaying the age risk too especially as it could only be a year that he is going to be playing in Major League Soccer.
