Frank Lampard is officially a Guinness World Record holder after being officially awarded the world record for Most Premier League Teams Scored Against.
The current New York City FC midfielder broke the record while he was playing with Manchester City, when he scored against his 39th club and a familiar side- Chelsea.
“It was a weird feeling when I scored,” he told GuinessWorldRecords.com.“But it did get me the record so I am also very happy with the goal!”
Lampard featured for the likes of West Ham United, Swansea, Chelsea, and Manchester City during his 20 years playing professional football in England. Incredibly, only 46 teams have played in the Premier League and Lampard has managed to score against 39 of them.

“I set goals throughout my career to break records and this is one I never imagined to get. I am a big fan of the books and always read the books with my daughters before bed so to feature in it is amazing”
Although Lampard has had quite the storied career plying his trade in Europe, he has struggled since making the move across the pond to play in Major League Soccer. He has played in just three matches for New York City FC this season, starting in two games for a total of 167 minutes spent on the pitch. He has been dealing with a number of injury problems, and hasn’t played since his club fell 2-1 to the Columbus Crew on August 29th.
Currently, NYCFC sit in 9th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, with 28 points from their first 27 matches in MLS. The expansion side are going to need their Guinness World Record holder back in the starting lineup if they have any chance of climbing up the table and making the postseason.
You will be able to read even more on Lampard’s record when he appears in the Guinness World Records 2016 Edition. The book will officially be released on September 10 and can be purchased at www.guinnessworldrecords.com/2016.
