A total of 84 players were selected over four rounds. The first name called was that of Cyle Larin, who will be spending the formative years of his career in Orlando City. The last name called was Seth Casiple, a University of California, Berkeley alumnus who was selected by the Portland Timbers, now playing for Portland Timbers 2 in the USL.
In between Larin and Casiple are numerous other names. Some names will turn into perennial all-stars and be considered significant parts of the league for seasons to come. Some will never be heard from again. These are the two sides of the MLS SuperDraft, or any entry draft for that matter.
Heading in, each franchise was looking for a player who could lead their club into the future.
Only time will tell which teams got what they were looking for, and which teams end up thinking about what could have been, but for now, let’s take a look at how the 2015 SuperDraft class have been faring so far.
