On Wednesday, Major League Soccer released the full schedule for the upcomming 2015 campaign. While they released the home opener for every team a few weeks ago, it was on Wednesday when every team’s full season schedule was revealed.

The defending MLS Cup Champions, Los Angeles Galaxy will kickoff the regular season when they host Chicago on Friday March 6th, 2015. The game will be broadcast nationally on UniMás starting at 10 pm/est.

The league announced a number of changes to the schedule with the new television deal taking effect this season. One of the more notable changes includes a “Decision Day” which will see all five games in the Eastern Conference played concurrently on Sunday, October 25 at 5 pm ET, with one game airing on FOX Sports 1 and one game on UniMás. Immediately following the Eastern Conference finales, all five Western Conference matches will take place at 7 pm ET, with one game airing on ESPN2 and one game on UniMás.

Fans in Toronto will have to wait the longest to watch a regular season MLS game live as the Reds won’t kickoff at home until May 10th. BMO Field is in the process of being renovated and won’t be ready until then. The good news for Toronto FC fans though is that they will get to watch Kaka and his Orlando City SC come to town twice in August. Toronto will play 10 of their final matches of the season at home.

The playoffs will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 28 with the first Knockout Round match taking place. The Conference Semifinals will take place over two consecutive weekends, Oct. 31-Nov. 1 and Nov. 7-8. It’ll mark the first time 6 teams in each conference make the playoffs, with the top two seeded teams in each conference not having to play in the Knockout Round.

Rivalry week is also back once again with derby matches taking place specifically between June 26-28 and Aug. 28-30. MLS Rivalry Week is presented by Heineken and has become a fan. The following games are all the derby matches scheduled to take place during the 2015 campaign.

Nationally televised games will take place on Friday and Sunday nights. UniMás will broadcast the Friday evening matches with Fox & ESPN splitting the Sunday night doubleheader.

In Canada, at least 30 games featuring Canadian clubs will be broadcast nationally on TSN networks in English and RDS networks in French. The TSN/TSN2 and RDS/RDS2 schedules will be announced in the coming weeks.

MLS  also took a page out of the NFL’s book by introducing flex scheduling for the second-to-last weekend of the regular season which will allow Univision, ESPN and FOX Sports to decide to telecast late in the season the matches that matter most in the standings.

The changes made to the schedule and will only make it easier for fans of the league to watch their favourite teams and catch more live action. The 20th MLS season is gearing up to be one of the most exciting in league history  with more teams and superstars than ever before.
