Columbus Crew (4-7-8, 7th Eastern) vs. Montreal Impact (3-9-5, 10th Eastern)

After blowing a chance at a draw against Sporting Kansas City at home on Wednesday, Columbus aims to turn around their week with points against the Montreal Impact whose last match was also a match in which they allowed SKC to still points at their home ground with a late goal as two bottom table Eastern Conference clubs collide.

Columbus will be in tough at home as they will be without promising young midfielder Wil Trapp, who took a red card in the 89th minute against SKC on Wednesday and will be suspended for the fixture with the Impact tonight. That should be a big factor as the Crew will have to deal with a rested Impact attack without their main defensive central midfielder.

Meanwhile despite their struggles, the Impact have a potent attack that is still led by former Serie A veteran Marco Di Vaio that allows Montreal to stay in matches thanks to a counter attack that is underrated largely due to their lack of results in 2014. That shouldn’t be a problem in this match, as against a Crew side that has faced equal challenges in 2014 the extra rest and lack of Trapp should allow Montreal to get a rare win on the road in Columbus on Saturday.
