Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Chivas USA: 10 Bold Predictions

Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy and Wilmer Cabrera’s Chivas USA meet again in the second SuperClasico match of the season at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. Los Angeles have a record of 4-3-4 (16 points) while Chivas USA are currently 2-7-4 (10 points). Both teams are in need of a victory on Sunday night to come into the World Cup break with massive momentum.
Kickoff at the Hub is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET and will be televised by Univision Deportes. Here are 10 Bold Predictions for Sunday’s contest between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA.
1. Chivas USA will not score
Chivas USA were unable to sneak a shot past Jaime Penedo in their 3-0 defeat to the Galaxy in their first meeting, and it will be more of the same. The Goats will not score, end of story. Next.
2. Landon Donovan will score
Landon Donovan will take it one game at a time to become the first player in Major League Soccer to reach 150 goals. Against Chivas USA, he will score in the first half.
3. Here comes Stefan Ishizaki

Stefan Ishizaki was held scoreless by the Chicago Fire on Saturday, but against Chivas USA, he will be on goal. Ishizaki currently has two goals this season and will find his finishing touch on Sunday night at the Hub.
4. Gyasi Zardes to score in the second half
Everyone loves a free oil change, and assuming the promotion is in effect on Sunday, Zardes will score in the second half and also earn an assist. Even if there is no promotion for a free oil change, Zardes will still score.
5. Brian Perk with under four saves
As this is Chivas USA the Galaxy are facing, Brian Perk should get the start. Perk had just one save in the Galaxy’s shutout win over Chivas on Apr. 6, and he will make under four saves on Sunday night because Los Angeles are applying the pressure for the full 90 and stoppage.
6. Dan Kennedy with at least five saves
In the only meeting between Chivas USA and the Galaxy, Chivas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy had five saves to lead the Goats. He’s going to have to make a sim8lar amount to put the designated visitors out of a similar predicament. Kennedy will make at least five saves on the night.
7. Dan Gargan with an assist
Galaxy defender Dan Gargan is one of four players to have three assists this season. Against Chivas USA, Gargan will record at least an assist.
