The FC Dallas duo of Jara and Mosquera has been instrumental in their winning streak

FC Dallas is headed in the right direction in the Western Conference table. The Texas club has surged up the standings following victories over the Houston Dynamo, Colorado Rapids, and Sporting Kansas City. During this incredible run of form, Dallas FC has averaged three goals a match and outscored their opponents nine to four.

The production of attacking duo Franco Jara and Santiago Mosquera is a big reason why Dallas has been able to achieve three consecutive victories. They have combined for seven of the nine goals scored during the winning streak. Without these two players scoring goals, Dallas would not be in the position they currently find themselves in.

Jara leading the way for FC Dallas

Dallas’ recent addition to the squad has been nothing short of impactful since arriving from Pachuca of Liga MX. Jara has scored five goals in just nine Major League Soccer appearances. He currently leads the way for Dallas in goals scored. The Argentine forward is proving to be one of the best acquisitions any MLS club has made in 2020.

More from MLS Multiplex

Jara’s success in MLS should come as no surprise as he was a very lethal goal scorer in Mexico’s top flight. He scored 15 goals in 26 appearances during the 2019/20 season for Pachuca. The 32-year-old has been able to replicate his consistency in MLS and it should continue as the season progresses.

Mosquera stepping up to deliver results

It was quite the performance from Mosquera against the Rapids. The Colombian registered his first-ever hat-trick in MLS to pave the way to a 4-1 victory.

He had scored two matches before against Minnesota United in a 3-2 loss. Following the loss to Minnesota, Mosquera made his way into the starting XI and has done well as a starter. There’s no question he is making a case to remain in the starting XI moving forward.

Dealing with the departure of Ondrasek

Dallas lost a key component of their team as striker Zdenek Ondrasek returned to the Czech Republic to play for Viktoria Plzen. Ondrasek scored seven goals for Dallas last season and had already scored twice this year. His departure left a void on the squad. The club lost its second-leading scorer from the previous campaign.

The recent performances from Jara and Mosquera give reason to believe that Dallas is going to be able to continue scoring consistently. These two players have stepped up and delivered without Ondrasek in the lineup. For the time being, Dallas appears they will be just fine offensively.
