Two teams in Major League Soccer‘s Western Conference are coming off tough losses to the beasts from the East on the road and will look to get their act together on Aug. 20 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Columbus Crew and will have their work cut out for them against Pablo Mastroeni’s Colorado Rapids, who fell, 4-2, to D.C. United at RFK Stadium.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET/9 p.m. ET and will be televised by MLS LIVE. Here are 10 Bold Predictions for Wednesday night’s match between the Colorado Rapids and Los Angeles Galaxy.

1. At least 40 fouls, under five cards

There won’t be a lot of cards in this match, as with the contest between the Crew and Galaxy. Of course, there weren’t any cards in the game, period, but there should be some here. The MLS Multiplex calls for at least 40 fouls and under five cards.

2. Under five saves from Jaime Penedo

This will be a tough game for Los Angeles Galaxy Jaime Penedo. Historically, the Galaxy have struggled on the road, and Colorado have been on a streak of success against the Galaxy. There will be under five saves from Penedo in this game.

3. At least five saves from Clint Irwin

On the flip side, expect a big game at home for Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin, who is hoping for a victory to stay in the race for the postseason. The MLS Multiplex is calling for at least five saves from Irwin to keep home alive in Commerce City.

4. No goals from the Los Angeles Galaxy

This will be the third straight match that the Los Angeles Galaxy exhibit poor form. There will be no goals from the Galaxy in this contest.

5. Deshorn Brown will score

On the flip side, watch for a number of goalscorers to step up to the plate. One of those goalscorers is Deshorn Brown, who has eight goals this season. Brown will score in the second half.

6. Dillon Serna will score

Dillon Serna scored a Goal of the Week candidate last weekend against D.C. United and will also get on the scoresheet this Wednesday against the Los Angeles Galaxy. Serna has three goals this season.

7. Also on board…Vicente Sanchez

Despite being injured in a previous meeting this year, Vicente Sanchez scored against the Los Angeles Galaxy and will also score again in the second half to add to the misery of a slumping side that has not delivered much on the road.

8. Dillon Powers with a goal and an assist

The two Dillons for Colorado have kept the Rapids in the hunt this season. The other half, Dillon Powers, has four goals and seven assists this season. Powers is tipped by the Plex to record a goal and an assist on Wednesday night in the Rockies.

9. No goals for Jose Mari

Jose Mari will not find the net on Wednesday night against Los Angeles. This season, Mari has three goals and is capable of striking from distance, but he won’t be successful against LA.

10. Colorado with a blowout comb win

This is how you bounce back: a statement win over a club not making a statement with their slump. For Pablo Mastroeni’s Colorado Rapids, the time has come to continue their history of success against the Los Angeles Galaxy and come away winners. And they will do it…with ease.
