Sporting KC MLS Cup 2013: Where are they now?

The first of the midfield three the day Sporting KC won their second title was Spaniard Oriol Rosell. The defensive midfielder played 36 games throughout the campaign, including in all five post-season clashes.
Rosell spent the majority of his youth career in the La Masia setup at Barcelona and went on to make his professional bow in the game with Barcelona’s B team in 2011. He made the move Stateside in August 2012, signing for Sporting Kansas City, joining the team just after their U.S. Open Cup victory.
A year later, Rosell was an integral part of the squad that went all the way to lifting the MLS Cup against Real Salt Lake in December 2013. At the end of the calendar year, Rosell made his unofficial international debut, playing. For the Catalonia national team, as they beat Cape Verde.
The Spaniard played 36 times, including in all five post-season games, but unfortunately had to be replaced after just eight minutes of the MLS Cup final after getting injured. In June 2014, the midfielder moved to Portugal, signing for Sporting CP. He spent four years with the club but had loan spells with Vitória Guimarães, Belenenses and Portimonense during that time.
Rosell now plays in MLS, once again, having signed for Orlando City in January 2018. The midfielder has played over 40 times for the club in the last 18 months.
