On the 6th episode of the Free Kicks Report Podcast, Nathan talks with Ryan Kelley, Team President of Asheville City SC from the NPSL.
The soccer landscape continues to flourish and expand each year. 2017 saw the debut of Asheville City SC in the NPSL. With impressive home crowds and an appealing downtown atmosphere, they quickly became a standout club in the league.
Team President and Co-Owner, Ryan Kelley, joined the Free Kicks Report joined the show to talk about the culture of soccer in the western part of North Carolina, where the club got its initial spark from, and the very creative ticket/jersey offer for fans.
The NPSL is well on its way to surpassing 100 clubs by the time the 2018 season kicks off. In fact, the league has already announced two new clubs this week alone.
After a successful year one in the NPSL, the organization recently announced plans to double the soccer in Asheville. At an event at Hi-Wire Brewing, their title sponsor, the ownership group announced the formation of a new WPSL team set to kick-off in 2018.
