MLS Player Power Rankings Week 8: Can anyone overtake Cubo?
By Mark Shannon
2. Cyle Larin – Orlando City FC – Last Week: 2nd
Larin put two goals in the back of the net this weekend up his total to six on the season, putting him in second place. His presence on the pitch is second to none and he wrecked havoc on the New York City defense. Orlando is sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings with a 5-0-1 record and they’ll look to up that record when they take on Colorado.
1. Erick Torres – Houston Dynamo – Last Week: 1st
Erick Torres is taking the MLS by storm after not scoring a goal for two seasons. He’s got seven goals through the first seven games of the MLS season. He’s been an unstoppable force this season, but he’ll be in tough Friday when his Houston Dynamo take on Toronto FC. He’ll hope he can bring his scoring touch to Toronto and help the Dynamo to a big victory. It’s time to see if Torres can lift the Dynamo in a big road match.
