Mista – Toronto FC

A product of the Real Madrid youth system, Mista made a name for himself in La Liga, playing for the likes of Valencia, Altético Madrid, Tenerife, and Deportivo La Coruña. With those 4 teams, Mista scored 48 goals in 218 appearances and helped those 4 clubs win 4 major titles during his 5 years in La Liga.

Though he was expected to destroy the MLS and Toronto FC scoring records when he signed for the club in the summer of 2010, Mista only picked up 1 assist in the 544 minutes of MLS play he received with Toronto but also conveniently picked up nearly $1 million in salary. A month after the end of the 2010 season, Mista was waived by Toronto and just 9 months later Mista retired from football.
