MLS SuperDraft: Rosenberry Impresses at Combine

Many teams in Major League Soccer struggle at one position: Outside Back. This year in the MLS SuperDraft there are many great outside backs available. Jordan McCrary, a fullback who can play on both flanks, has played well at the Combine so far. He just needs to show his attacking quality. McCrary is a good player but, the best outside defender at the Combine is Keegan Rosenberry.

Rosenberry is a right back that spent four years at Georgetown University. He gets overlooked sometimes due to the fact of playing with the likes of Joshua Yaro. Rosenberry was a member of one of the best defenses in the nation.

He was a team captain for Georgetown, where he earned All- Big East honors multiple times. During the summer, he played for Reading United in the Premier Development League. Rosenberry was the captain of Reading in 2015.

The young defender has impressed scouts on the first couple days of the MLS Combine. On the first day, Rosenberry preformed extremely well in the performance tests. He finished 4th in the agility test and 2nd in the power test.

On the second day, he played great for Team Ace. He had some great attacking runs and stopped players on the wings. Another couple strong days and look at Rosenberry go in the top 10. He is a great young player who has a bright future in Major League Soccer.

Prediciton: First, the Union applied for a Homegrown tag on Rosenberry but it got denied. He will not be selected 3rd or 6th by the Philadelphia Union. Rosenberry will get picked No.9 by Toronto FC to strength a defense that could extremely use his help. Toronto desperately needs defensive help, and I think he can play either right or left back. If Toronto does not select him, I think Vancouver will take him with the No.16 pick. Others team that could select him our Houston Dynamo and San Jose Earthquakes. Teams that need fullback help.
