DC United did not have a good match this weekend as the second placed club in the Eastern Conference dropped a result in Salt Lake as DCU were drubbed 3-0 during what was a poor result that expectedly drew the ire of United supporters who felt that their club’s players did not give it a full effort.

That led to some people taking their frustrations on Twitter out on striker Eddie Johnson, who missed a sitter in the match. Johnson, who is not one to hold back on making bold statements replied with several comments that were in poor taste. Including telling fans that he has been in a World Cup in addition to several other comments that were unsurprisingly deleted.

Luckily KC Cauldron screencapped the Twitter meltdown of Johnson, who dropped gems like “Hustle lol. How about quality.” “lol. I’m not here to please your town buddy.” “Go root for someone else.” And more.

You can see the full Twitter rant below, DC United is likely aware of the situation as Johnson likely would not have deleted the tweets on his own seeing as he got into it for quite some time with the frustrated supporters following the loss. Expect a statement of some sort from Johnson and the club in the coming days as the former USMNT striker and accomplished MLS veteran may want to deal with his post-match anger away from social media in the future.
