Following a winless international break, the USMNT players returned to their respective clubs around the world. Here is an update of what occurred.

The international friendlies are finished and the shift now turns to the CONCACAF Nations League in October. In between now and then, the microscope will be on many players in the United States Men’s National Team player pool. Here’s how some of those hoping to be selected fared this weekend.

One of the few goalscorers this week was Julian Green of Greuther Furth, who won 2-1 in a Friday Bundesliga 2 fixture. The forward was not selected for this past international break but he continues to shows he has what it takes to garner the attention of the USMNT coaching staff.

Weston McKennie returned to Schalke and contributed an assist in a 5-1 rout of Paderborn in the Bundesliga. In Denmark, Emmanuel Sabbi scored for Hobro in a 2-1 win over FC Copenhagen. This was his third goal of the Superligaen season.

Joel Soñora’s impressive run of form continued for Arsenal de Sarandi in Argentina. The forward scored in a 4-1 victory for the club’s fourth win of the season. They currently sit fourth in the table. Sunderland’s Lynden Gooch scored in a 3-1 victory over Accrington Stanley in English League One action.

  • Zack Steffen started for Fortuna Düsseldorf in a 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg.
