Colorado Rapids vs. Chivas USA: 10 Bold Predictions

Pablo Mastroeni’s Colorado Rapids and Wilmer Cabrera’s Chivas USA clash in a battle of Western Conference powers in Major League Soccer. The Rapids are currently 7-6-6 (27 points) and are fifth in the MLS Western Conference. As for Chivas, they are 6-8-5 (23 points) and sit in eight place in the West.

Three big points will be on hand tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. MT/9:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by MLS LIVE. Here are 10 Bold Predictions for the match between the Colorado Rapids and Chivas USA.

1. At least 40 fouls and four cards

This will be a tough, physical match that will see plenty of rough play as both sides look to chase the teams at the top. The MLS Multiplex boldly predicts for at least 40 fouls whistled and four cards issued.

2. Dan Kennedy with at least five saves

Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy has 48 saves to his credit and will need to make a few more saves on Friday against Colorado to keep the season alive for the Goats. At least five saves will be made.

3. Erick Torres will score

This season, Erick Torres has 14 goals for Chivas USA and is their best finisher. We’ve been on a roll calling for Torres to score, so why not call on him to score again?

4. Clint Irwin with at least five saves

Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin has 48 saves to his record this season. Against Chivas USA, Irwin should make at least five saves to make this a low-scoring game.

5. Vicente Sanchez will score

In 2014, Vicente Sanchez has six goals for the Colorado Rapids. On Friday, now back in full fitness, Sanchez will score another to lead the Rapids.
